Gen Training System Demonstration
The next Gathering will be on 17th December 2008 at 9pm UK Time within the Gen Village in Second Life.
The focus this time will be on the in-world training system which can be used by all users of the Gen community to deliver short, subject-specific training courses.
The training system is easy to use, administer and control, and allows targetted training within the Gen community.
It struck me that there was no mechanism for the Gen community to have short, one-hour training courses on VERY detailed technical subjects that would be lost in amongst other, larger, longer training courses, so I developed the in-world training suite.
The training suite can be used to deliver free or paid-for training – so why not come along next Wednesday and see for yourself !
Registering for this event either below or in-world will also enrol you as a student in the Gen Academy and you will be automatically signed up to the demonstration course which will mean you will receive personalised training materials in your in-box.

EDGE Reception Videos now available !

The First-Life video is very tongue-in-cheek – it perhaps illustrates the fun that was had at the event !
The Second-Life video follows the same format although with an altogether more staid music selection !
See them to believe them.
In my opinion, the EDGE Multiverse Reception (I believe a first for CA World) was a success – even though I wasn’t at the Venetian, I felt part of the event – let’s hope there are more of these !!!!

EDGE Reception a hit !
Last night’s EDGE Reception went really well – I was at home in the UK, and another well know Gen person (you know who you are !!!) was elsewhere in the UK, whilst we interacted with the EDGE Reception in the Venetian, Las Vegas – we had 2-way dialog and we could see the attendees at the reception through the webcam broadcasting in Second Life – just like we were there !
We had the chance to catch up with some friends and colleagues without ever leaving the UK !!!!!
Gen Village makes first CAWorld 2008 Today !!!
The Gen Village was showcased at the CARE conference yesterday, and TODAY, it was mentioned in the first CA World 2008 paper! The article is on page 9 of a CA-Gen-littered paper (which can be seen here) – APG and Jumar are also mentioned in the newsletter!
