CA Gen forums

This is one of those “announcement” sort of posts!

Should you have a question around CA Gen that you think that the general user community could answer, and want to use a “forum” style of interaction – where do you go ?

The obvious answer is the EDGE User Group – www.edgeusergroup.org – you can connect with the rest of the CA Gen world there.

The other main resource is the CA Communites Website – to which the EDGE forums will be migrating shortly – here .

Remember that you’ll have to sign up to post to either forum – they’re free and a great set of resources.

Note that the Gentalk.biz forums have been shut down and are no longer operating

EDIT: The content of the forum is still there – I’m just working on exporting it so we don’t lose it – it will find a home!

CA Gen Vision and Strategy at May Mainframe Madness

Tomorrow (Friday) is the day we’ve all been waiting for – the CA Gen Vision and Strategy presentation from CA.

To register for May Mainframe Madness, go here and sign up – it’s free. Follow the instructions and make sure that you’re in the Auditorium at 3:00pm BST on Friday 28/5/2010.

The abstract for the 30 minute presentation (given by Russ LeClaire and Andy Wyatt) is here:

“CA expands its commitment to innovation with CA Gen r8, continuing to enable customers to generate enhanced web applications using new technologies, e.g., Ajax, REST Web Services, etc., as they transition to web-based architectures and SOA. Learn more about the CA Gen evolution to Eclipse, the new PStep Interface Designer and Web Service Access Designer, which enables you to extend CA Gen SOA capabilities to publish and consume Web Services and model Rich Internet Applications directly from CA Gen.  In addition, learn about many other enhancements coming your way such as 64 bit Itanium support, support for larger models and subsets and many database enhancements.”

Can you afford to miss it ?

CA world draws to a close

image

This is the last day of CA World 2010 – the last 2 presentations by Tim of Facet Consulting about performance tuning of CA Gen applications and Luuc of Coolprofs were really well received, showing that with some careful thought and planning, Gen applications can be tunes to run on the harshest of environments.
Roll on CA World 2011
